Weight Loss and or - Gain
In order to lose weight, we do not necessarily need to starve ourselves to achieve our goals. It simply means choosing healthier options and eating the correct portions of the different food groups. Sometimes by eating more healthier foods, lower in energy, you achieve better results compared to barely eating anything. Eating healthy also doesn’t mean giving up all the foods that you love, it means choosing food wisely.
On the other hand, in order to gain weight, one simply can’t just eat more protein (meat) and expect to gain muscle mass. In order to gain weight, especially healthy weight = muscle, one needs to combine it with exercise, and you still need to eat healthier foods. You cant just consume take-aways 24/7 and expect to gain weight and be healthy.
No two people are exactly the same and their bodies will also react differently to weight loss and/ or -gain. There are also a lot of factors that can influence weight loss and/ or gain and it’s not always as simple as cutting or increasing calories or taking a tablet or injection. That’s where we as Dietitians can assist you to tailor make your program to achieve results and make it a lifestyle and not just another diet.
